Mini 4 Gun

May 5, 2007

  Crumlin Sportsmen’s Association welcomed shooters from across Ontario to Our 3rd Annual Mini 4 Gun Event.

  This is a 50 Bird   per gauge 4 gun event designed to be shot in one day and is now attracting more shooters as the interest grows in this type of shoot.

  Shoot Director Reg Hooper did an excellent job of organizing and moving the squads to the fields in a timely manner; a prerequisite with 45 minute flight times.

  The 12 Gauge event saw several shooters bring their “A” game to the event with Reg nailing down Champion with a perfect 50, followed by Doug Harrison with a 49 in the Runner Up spot. Jim Carter took D1 with a 47. Shoot offs saw Tony Lamereux best Lindsay Coyle (This was Lindsay’s first Shoot-Off) to take C1.

  The second gauge of the morning saw the winds pick up for the 28 Gauge but bouncing targets meant nothing to Reg as he took Champion after a shoot off with Frank Stewart, Len Le Page and  Doug Harrison. Frank prevailed for RU while Len took A1, Doug ending in B1. Chuck Cresswell and Doug Baker took C1 and D1 respectfully.

  Following a brief lunch break, squads again hit the fields for the 20 Gauge with Reg again taking Champion with a 49. Frank bested Len in the shoot-offs to take A1 with Len A2. Chuck Stewart took B1.

 The winds kept the 410 very interesting for most shooters but Steve Malcolm barely noticed, posting a 49 for Champion while Reg took RU.

  Thanks to all the shooters who made the event successful and for having fun. Thanks to Chuck Cresswell   who helped on the front desk and to all who refereed;

Steve Malcolm, Ed Wintermute, Reg Hooper, and Keith Hutcheson
