KAPRON MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW-BY FRANK STEWART.

Fifty skeet shooters traveled to Kirkfield Ontario the week-end of July 14-16-06 for the sixth annual knotty pine open. They come from all over Ont, as far away as Hamilton & London to Kingston, pembroke & Parry sound, and most points in between. For the first time in three years we did not have any rain, but it was hot and windy. The wind kept the scores down a bit from last year, as no hundreds were posted. JOHN KAPRON with a pair of 99s won the HOA in this 200 target shoot. This is Johns second win in as many years, winning last year with a perfect 200 straight. DOUG KNIGHT with a pair of 98s captured his second straight r/u win in as many years. Class winners were.

DOMINIC RAPONI was our junior champ and KEVIN WITLOX was junior r/u. In the LDY concurrent JOAN EGO was CH and JENNIE MARSH runner up. DOUG KNIGHT captured the senior championship and DOUG BURDETT our only world champion was runner up. We also had 6 new shooters this year, welcome to the NSSA to GARTH LEADER, STEVE MICKELER, DOUG BAKER, RICHARD PEARCE, MARTIN BOHN, and PERRIE MCKENZIE, who all shot there first registered targets.

I would like to thank everyone for coming, and a special thank you to everyone who helped with cleaning up and refereeing, especialy STU MORTON who spent the entire week-end on the field refereeing. Thanks again to JOANNE STEED on registration and the score board. Several shooters told me we have the best targets in Ontario, this is thanks to DOUG STEED our trap mechanic. I would also like to say a very special thank you to my wife SHARON for putting up with me all year, and for the best damn BBQ i have ever been to.
