WINTERMUTE WINS 410 MARATHON

 By Frank Stewart

It was a cold windy day at the Orillia Gun Club on May 22, 2006 for the Annual 410/500 Marathon. I guess Brent Wintermute never noticed the poor weather conditions as he broke 469 of the 500 challenging taragets to claim the championship. Wally Baumann was only 2 targets behind with a 467/500 for Runner up.

We had a number of new shooters this year as there are only 2 shooters left that have shot all 6 marathons since we started this madness back in 2001.

In this shoot we start at 9.00 a.m. and shoot 250-410 targets non stop, then take an hour for lunch and shoot another 250 non stop, with only 2 skeet fields we are limited to 10 shooters.

There were 5 seniors shooting this year with Doug Knight winning the SR Championship. Class Winners were A- F. Stewart, B-Doug Knight, C-Ray Lyons, D-Scott Madill.

Thank you to our referees Doug Steed and Stu Morton for 5000 good pulls. Also thanks once again to Joanne Steed on registration and the scoreboard. And a special thank you to Mary Knight for cooking lunch for everyone.

We hope to see everyone back next year for the seventh 410 marathon.
